Oliver at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London

Oliver! Sets the West End alight – Sunday Telegraph.

Cameron Mackintosh presents his triumphant new staging of Lionel Bart’s masterpiece Oliver! at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, which was last seen at the Palladium in 1994. Oliver! is one of the most beloved British musicals, vividly bringing to life Dickens’ timeless characters with its ever popular story of the boy who asked for more.

The new production at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane is even more spectacular than ever before, starring Omid Djalili as Fagin, Jodie Prenger (winner of the BBC’s I’d Do Anything) and a cast and orchestra of over one hundred. Steve Hartley plays Bill Sykes.

The sensational score is full of Lionel Bart’s irresistible songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more.

Blast away all those recession cobwebs. Anyone who needs cheering up should get along to Drury Lane sharpish and catch this humdinger of a night – Daily Mail.

Uplifting stuff. Jodie Prenger is terrific, great, earthy and warm. You’ll love it – Sunday Times.

Please note:
Row A in the Balcony is restricted view by a handrail. Rows U to ZZ in the Stalls may have an obscured view due to the Dress Circle overhang.

Sickness and holiday permitting, Jodie Prenger performs on Monday and Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees, Thursday and Friday evenings and both performances on Saturday.

Leading Australian actress Tamsin Carroll (who played the role of Nancy in the 2002 Australian production of Oliver!) will play the role of Nancy on Wednesday evenings. Jodie Prenger is contracted to appear until 27th March 2010.

Griff Rhys Jones will perform the role of Fagin until June 2010.
